Travel Photography: First Day of Spring (Montreal)

Travel Photography: First Day of Spring (Montreal)

Travel destination:
Canada. Quebec. Montreal
Lachine. Parc René-Lévesque .

Shot info:
Canon 60D / Sigma 17-70 / 44mm
1/125 / F5.6 / Av / ISO 200

This photo was inspired by great travel photo collection I came across yesterday (http://goo.gl/DwMmm). The collection demonstrates first day of spring climate anomalies in Northern Hemisphere: record high temperature in most of the North America but Arizona is covered with snow, uncharacteristically warm weather in Europe with snow in Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia.

My photo was taken in René-Lévesque Park in Montreal, not far from where I live. The temperature is +22 and humid, people, including myself, wear t-shirts; it feels like midsummer evening but Lachine Marina is still covered with solid ice. It is very unusual and confusing.

Nice, that little yellow dot of a sun is making this shot truly remarkable
